My idea for the Zine project is to create a series of different fractals in photoshop and illustrator. I have recently been very interested in fractals and as soon as I heard about the project, I knew I wanted to make fractals. Although I want them all to be different and unique, I also want to make them connected with some elements. One way I want to do this is by making every fractal have a centralized point in the middle of the image. This way, every fractal can be different but they all follow a similar shape. For the colors, I want to do a mix of solid colors and some more colorful ones. For the colorful ones, I want to make the colors a bit more dull and less vibrant than the solid color ones. My idea for the cover is to create a smaller fractal that fits inside of a circle so that the fractal can be framed and there will also be room for the title of the zine. For the back page, I want to have many different variations of the same fractal in different sizes. Then, for all the main pages I want each to have a single full frame fractal that covers the whole page. Overall, I am really excited for this project and I look forward to using photoshop and illustrator as I haven’t had much experience in either program. Here are some of the images that I’ll use as inspiration for my work:
