Artist Statement 2:

I’m very happy with how this project turned out. I had a really hard time getting into effect house but once I did I found it to be an enjoyable experience turning my ideas in Blender into AR. Originally, I had made a very detailed version of the scarecrow effect in Blender and I had to change it a lot to make it usable in AR. However, I found it to be a nice challenge to keep the same concept of my more detailed version but make it much smaller in file size. For my final project I included my Blender version because I was very proud of it. I had a lot of fun creating these 2 effects. My favorite part was making the cloth simulation for the ghost and then figuring out how to keep it very low poly and make the eye cutouts. It was also really fun to look at the videos that random people were making with my effects and I found myself obsessively checking both the statistics for the effects and the videos people were making. This made it feel very rewarding and it was cool to get to see people’s reactions to my work in real time. Every aspect of this project felt like a rewarding challenge for me and I will definitely continue to use both Blender and effect house.
