Artist Statement 1:

Although I’m happy with the progress I’ve made with this project, and my vision of the background and trees are starting to look nice, I was not actually able to finish the project. With several other projects going on and somewhat poor time management,  I didn’t have the time to finish what I wanted to with this project in the window of time that was allowed for the contest. Because of this, the end result is not really how I pictured it would be however I am still proud of what I have done so far with it. I wish I had focused more time on the character and getting to try out the cloth simulation but I plan on continuing with this concept for a future project. I think that the background ended up fitting together very nicely and I enjoy the feeling of the sunlight coming through the small village. Although I wasn’t able to submit this render for the contest, I still plan to use the background that I created maybe for some other animation in the future. I think it will honestly work out better this way because I can make the background that I spent so much time on more of a focal part of the render.
