About mE

My name is Harrison Hancock. I grew up in the Bay Area, right outside of San Francisco.

I’ve always been interested in art. As a kid, I mostly drew with pencils and markers and later moved more into painting and other art forms. Now, I still really enjoy drawing and painting, as well as pottery. I recently got a pottery wheel in my apartment. I’m currently enjoying experimenting with collages and different surfaces to collage on like tiles and wood.

In High School, I took a design class that introduced me to the world of digital art. I learned Adobe Illustrator and another similar program called Affinity Designer. Although I enjoyed learning these, I often got frustrated by certain aspects of the programs and felt limited. I started learning a program called Blender 2 years ago and I became almost addicted to it. I never had any issue in learning the program as it felt very intuitive. It's now the medium that I am most comfortable with and I’ve since been hired for freelance work. Recently, I got to work on the VFX for a short film set in space, concept art for producer Thane Watkins, and motion graphics for Colorado College. I have also entered a few Blender competitions and I’ve had my work shown on YouTube. I think Blender is a very interesting way to make art because you can create very complicated and unique pieces of art very quickly.

I’m excited to continue learning throughout this course.
